Developer Irregular Shapes and publisher Firesquid have confirmed that City Tales – Medieval Era, a charming strategy city builder game, is set to launch in Early Access on PC via Steam in 2025. A demo is available now until March 3, 2025, as part of Steam Next Fest, giving players a chance to experience the game’s unique blend of city-building, storytelling, and medieval charm.
In City Tales – Medieval Era, you step into the role of a medieval lord tasked with transforming a humble campsite into a thriving medieval kingdom. The game combines traditional city-building mechanics with innovative features, such as an urban planning tool that allows you to draw districts and craft over 40 unique buildings. But what truly sets City Tales apart is its emphasis on narrative and companionship.
As you build your city, you’ll be joined by a cast of companions, characters who assist in the growth of your kingdom and whose stories you can shape. These companions bring their own skills and personalities to the table, and their development is intertwined with the success of your city.
