Publisher Playstack and solo developer Stubby Games have officially announced VOID/BREAKER, an intense roguelite FPS that promises high-speed action, deep weapon customization, and revolutionary environmental destruction. The game will first launch in Steam Early Access later this year, with a full release planned for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S.
The story of VOID/BREAKER places players in a world controlled by a hostile AI, trapped in an endless loop of combat and death. However, unlike traditional FPS titles, the focus here isn’t solely on shooting, it’s about speed, agility, and strategic thinking. Movement is fluid, and the environment can be dynamically destroyed, opening up new tactical possibilities.
One of the game’s most striking features is its weapon customization system, offering hundreds of unique modification combinations. Depending on your chosen upgrades, weapons can become truly devastating, and discovering powerful synergies becomes key to progression. Environmental destruction isn’t just cosmetic, smashing walls and collapsing structures can be used to outsmart your enemies.
The project is led by Daniel Stubbington, best known for the acclaimed 2022 puzzle game The Entropy Centre. After the success of that Portal-inspired title, Stubbington now turns to his other passion: fast-paced shooters with roguelite elements. According to him, VOID/BREAKER is his most ambitious game yet, as showcased in the first trailer revealed during the Triple-i Initiative Showcase.
