To celebrate the 10th anniversary of The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth, developer Edmund McMillen has announced a significant update for the beloved action RPG shooter, alongside a special Steam sale on the game and its DLCs. On November 18, fans can look forward to a free update that brings full online co-op to Rebirth, giving players the chance to journey through Isaac’s haunting world with friends for the first time.
This new multiplayer mode is accompanied by a major balance patch that will adjust several items in response to player feedback, focusing on buffing items that fans have considered underpowered or ineffective.
McMillen expressed his excitement for the milestone and hinted at the game’s long developmental journey, sharing that features for Rebirth were originally designed in Flash even before the current art style was finalized. He also revealed a fun tidbit for fans: The character now known as “The Lost” was initially called “The Witness.”
