Spain-based indie studio Anima Project is set to breathe new life into a beloved action-RPG series with Anima: Gate of Memories I & II Remaster. This fully revamped edition, combining the original Gate of Memories and its sequel The Nameless Chronicles, launches in Fall 2025 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Steam. A Nintendo Switch 2 version will arrive in 2026.
Anima: Gate of Memories I & II Remaster weaves together two stories set in a universe inspired by the Anima Beyond Fantasy tabletop RPG. You will follow the intertwined fates of two protagonists: the Bearer of Calamities, a mysterious girl with no memory, and the Nameless, an immortal soul cursed to wander forever. With branching storylines shaped by your choices, the saga offers a deep, dual-perspective narrative that explores themes of destiny, memory, and sacrifice.
The remaster rebuilds both games from the ground up, delivering upgraded visuals, while the fast-paced combat system has been rebalanced, blending real-time action with classic RPG mechanics. Additionally, you can execute various combos and strategic attacks, switching seamlessly between characters using the Dual System to chain devastating moves.
