Serenity Forge recently announced that they will be porting To the Moon, a beloved adventure game from developer Freebird Games, to Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5. A release date was not announced yet, however it was also revealed that a new part of the series, The Beach Episode, will be launching Sept. 20 on Steam.

To the Moon is an innovative mix between adventure game elements and classic RPG aesthetics. In this story-driven experience players take on the roles of Dr. Rosalene and Dr. Watts, two doctors traveling backwards through a dying man’s memories to artificially fulfill his last wish – a journey to the moon. As they’re trying to piece together the puzzled events that affected his memories, they soon discover that the past is much more complex than it seems.

This production of Freebird Games studio was so well received that it lived to see a sequel titled Finding Paradise and even a prequel in the form of Impostor Factory. In addition, work on an animated adaptation was announced in 2018. However, this is not the end of the brand’s development. Since To The Moon is going be released on the latest gaming platforms, it’ll also receive some significant improvements: real 16:9 display, 4K resolution and refresh rates of up to 120 Hz, haptics support on DualSense controllers and even new achievements from the developers.

However, when it comes to new installment to the franchise we are provided with more information. To the Moon Series Beach Episode combines the elements from To the Moon, Finding Paradise, and Impostor Factory into one production. As main characters take off to an all-expenses-paid vacation, their stay is filled various mini-games, mysteries and relaxing activities. Even the dead are returning, but something is not quite right…

Unfortunately, a console release date has not yet been revealed.
