SpringGuild has announced Shadow Mate, a dark fantasy action-adventure game built with Unreal Engine 5, featuring a unique blend of suspense and psychological depth. Players take on the role of Cynthia, a young girl trapped in a mysterious research institute who wakes to find herself possessed by Belial, a dangerous lifeform created by the very scientists who imprison her.
Unreal Engine 5 brings the eerie atmosphere of Shadow Mate through impressive visuals and details that bring the dark environment of the laboratory to life. Throughout the game, players will explore shadowy corridors, solve cryptic puzzles, and face enemies, using not only combat skills but also Belial's unique powers.
The collaboration between Cynthia and Belial is not just a story – it is crucial for gameplay, as it requires balancing the skills and personalities of both characters. Additionally, players can choose between close combat and ranged attacks, as well as transform into a true demon, which opens the door to numerous strategies for overcoming enemies.
