The new game Mars Attracts will bring a unique twist to theme park building games. Based on the popular 1996 movie Mars Attacks!, players can create amusement parks on Mars for alien visitors, while kidnapped humans are the star attractions. This game is set to be available for early access in 2025 for PC via Steam.
Studio Outlier is inviting players to take part in the first closed alpha playtest of their game starting on December 4, 2024. This early access lets them help improve the game while trying out its fun features. In Mars Attracts, you can enjoy the excitement of roller coasters and rides, along with a darkly funny twist: creating enclosures for kidnapped humans from different times in history, like Ancient Rome and the Wild West.
The game follows a familiar tycoon loop where you must construct attractions, manage resources, and ensure their Martian guests remain entertained. However, its unique setting and twisted humor set it apart from traditional theme park sims. While the game is still in early development, the first trailer hints at a blend of dark comedy and strategic depth.
