Mycopunk Blasts Onto Steam Early Access in 2025 with Chaotic Co-op Action

Debut studio Pigeons at Play and publisher Devolver Digital have teamed up to unveil Mycopunk, a first-person co-op shooter set to hit Steam Early Access in 2025. A demo is available now on Steam, inviting players to dive into the fungal-fueled chaos with friends.

In Mycopunk, you join the New Atlas Hazard Crew, a scrappy team of robot rejects hired by the galactic megacorporation SAXON for a high-risk job. Tasked with tackling a planet-wide fungal disaster, the crew is the cheapest option for a mission that could be their last shot at glory or a one-way trip to the scrap heap. Across dangerous planet-side missions, you will fight to contain the threat while questioning whether it’s a natural disaster or something more sinister.

The game’s combat revolves around an arsenal of futuristic weapons and power tools, customizable through a unique grid-based upgrade system that lets you craft absurdly powerful sci-fi super-weapons. Enemies weaponize the planet’s technology and can reassemble dropped parts, making every fight dynamic and unpredictable. You must work together, combining upgraded abilities and tailored weapons to create synergistic builds that turn rickety robots into a formidable force.

Between missions, you can unwind in an orbital dropship, a hub filled with toys, games, and opportunities to learn more about the galaxy. Here, you can chat with Roachard Cox, an insectoid SAXON veteran, adding humor and lore to the experience.
