The highly anticipated sequel to the popular portal-based shooter, Splitgate 2, is soon opening its doors to everyone following a closed beta earlier this year. 1047 Games announced that the Open Beta for Splitgate 2 will begin on May 22 and will be available on PC via Steam, as well as on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, with crossplay support across all platforms and a variety of game modes.
The Open Beta introduces 25 different weapons and over 15 maps to explore, including two large Onslaught maps, Drought and Fracture, supporting up to 24 players. Additionally, 10 different modes will be available, with Takedown standing out, where the goal is to defeat all teams before they can return.
Furthermore, 1047 Games teased the concept of “infinite” maps, emphasizing replayability and describing it as a revolutionary feature. The extensive content of the Open Beta is just a glimpse of what’s planned for the full release, signaling that Splitgate 2 is set for a significant evolution compared to its predecessor.
