Buramato, a fast-paced semi-open-world 3D action-adventure game with RPG elements deeply rooted in traditional Bornean mythology, is coming to PC via Steam. Developer OZYGAMES has yet to reveal a specific release date. While Taiwanese ratings from July 2024 suggest potential PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch versions under publisher Soft Source Entertainment, OZYGAMES has not officially confirmed console releases.
Buramato takes you to a magical world based on Borneo’s folk tales. You play as a quiet hero who wakes up with no memories, wearing a magic mask that stops them from speaking. However, they feel they must save someone, but don’t know who. Your adventure takes you through cursed lands changed by Uwok, the Demon King from Borneo’s stories. When he was defeated long ago, he left behind a terrible curse that ruined these places.
Fast-paced and combo-driven combat draws comparisons to Devil May Cry or Bayonetta for its fluidity. You will slay giant monsters and mythical creatures using stylish attacks, often enhanced by magic. A fairy companion, Purpura Pandurata, aids in battle, suggesting a dynamic power system tied to the curse. Also, you can glide, warp, and leap across diverse landscapes, from plains to floating islands.
The semi-open-world design encourages discovery, with puzzles and environmental challenges woven into progression. Buramato also brings light RPG mechanics, such as absorbing and manipulating the curse’s power to gain abilities. Storytelling is open-ended and multi-layered, relying on exploration and character interactions rather than heavy exposition.
