Tripwire Presents, the publishing arm of Tripwire Interactive, and developer Ice Code Games are announced the console release of Rogue Waters, coming to Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S on February 4, 2025. The pirate-themed, tactical turn-based roguelite, currently available on PC, launched to a warm reception, earning a “Very Positive” rating on Steam.
Set in a cursed pirate world, Rogue Waters invites players to take command of their own pirate crew, exploring an ever-changing map while engaging in both naval and melee combat. With cannon-based map manipulation and mythical creatures like the Kraken available to summon in battle, this unique tactical experience blends strategic planning with action. Each new run brings an altered game world, adding fresh challenges and variety to the gameplay.
Most players highlight that the weakest aspects of the game are its roguelike mechanics, which lack depth and variety. Although there are different ways to approach gameplay, the current randomness of the items you receive does not motivate you to actually try them out.
