Publisher Private Division and developer Weta Workshop have delayed yet again Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game. Originally set to release on March 25, this single-player life simulation game will now launch on July 29, 2025, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.
Tales of the Shire invites players to step into the peaceful world of Middle-earth and experience life as a Hobbit in the idyllic village of Bywater. The game promises a cozy and immersive life simulation experience, where players can customize their Hobbit, decorate their home, and participate in the daily joys of Shire life. From baking fluffy cakes to styling foot-hair, every detail is designed to make players feel at home in this beloved setting.
In a heartfelt message to fans, Weta Workshop explained the reason for the delay: “A good Hobbit feast takes time, and so does Tales of the Shire!” the studio wrote. “We’re taking a little longer to ensure that every Hobbit, on every platform, can enjoy the same cozy experience.”
