JDM: Japanese Drift Master Delayed, Now Releasing in May

Although we previously reported that JDM: Japanese Drift Master would launch at the end of March, that will no longer be the case. In a somewhat bizarre turn of events, the studio initially confirmed the release date, only to delay it again just weeks later. The open-world racing simulation is now expected to be available on Steam, GOG and Epic Games Store on May 21, 2025.

According to Gaming Factory, the main reason for the delay is to allow for “extra time to ensure the highest possible quality and a seamless experience for all drift and automotive enthusiasts.” As a reminder, JDM: Japanese Drift Master takes players into an open-world setting in the fictional Japanese prefecture of Guntama, featuring over 250 kilometers of main roads. This world blends iconic tourist attractions, such as a recreation of Himeji Castle, with legendary locations dedicated to car enthusiasts.

Of course, no racing game is complete without beautiful and fast cars. In JDM: Japanese Drift Master, you’ll have access to fully licensed models from renowned Japanese manufacturers like Nissan, Mazda, and Subaru, with more to be announced in the future. Every car can be upgraded both mechanically and visually, and each will handle differently on the road. You’ll feel its weight when taking sharp turns or braking at high speeds, adding to the realistic driving experience.
