Mountaintop Studios has officially unveiled their groundbreaking competitive tactical FPS, Spectre Divide. This innovative game introduces the Duality mechanic, a feature that promises to change tactical shooters.
Spectre Divide is a 3v3 tactical FPS that elevates the genre with its Duality mechanic, allowing players to control two bodies in real-time. This feature, known as the Spectre, enables players to switch between their two bodies during gameplay. Whether protecting bomb sites, covering teammates, or seeking redemption after a defeat, Duality adds a fresh layer of tactics to traditional gameplay.
The game’s anime-inspired world, influenced by ’90s Japanese cel animation, enhances its visual appeal with clean and engaging designs. Spectre Divide’s arsenal includes futuristic tech like the Partition and Splinter Grenade, each integrated with the Duality mechanic for a unique combat experience. Players can also compete solo or in teams, switching between attacker and defender roles in matches centered around planting or defusing the ZEUS device.
The development team boasts experience from major games like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Valorant, Apex Legends, Overwatch, Call of Duty, and Halo. Their expertise, combined with input from genre experts like Shroud, has shaped Spectre Divide into a high-paced, competitive shooter ready to captivate players.
Players will have an opportunity to experience Spectre Divide for themselves during the first major stress test, taking place from August 3rd to August 4th. To get access, players only need to head to the official Steam Store page and click the “Request Access” button to sign up. Further, the latest information on stress test dates and times can be found on the team’s dedicated post.
