Croatian Pine Studio has announced Escape Simulator 2, a sequel to their popular first-person escape room game. It is planned to be released on Escape Simulator 2, and this new title brings players new escape rooms designed with the help of experts and members of the Escape Simulator community. Up to eight players can team up to solve mysteries and uncover secrets in rich and detailed environments.
The developers have confirmed the arrival of several new room packs, which will be larger and more detailed, to provide players with a familiar experience filled with various puzzles and mysteries. So far, three areas have been revealed: Dracula’s Castle, Starship EOS, and The Cursed Treasure, featuring themes full of vampires, space, and pirates. Additionally, the game will come with Room Editor 2.0, which allows for the creation and sharing of rooms with enhanced tools such as a lighting engine and animation editor.
The sequel brings significant technical improvements. Pine Studio has implemented a new rendering engine, revamped the netcode for a smoother multiplayer experience, improved the physics, and added more realistic animations. Therefore, expect the game to look more beautiful and immersive.
Boris Barbir, Co-Founder at Pine Studio, expressed his thoughts about pushing the boundaries of the escape room genre: “A sequel gives us the opportunity to start fresh and explore new gameplay and puzzle mechanics. While we’ll continue to support the original game, Escape Simulator 2 opens doors to even more ambitious adventures.”
