Studio Echo Division has announced its latest project, Echoes Below, a tactical shooter set on a mysterious archipelago. The game will be available on Steam in Early Access, though the exact release date is yet to be confirmed. Echoes Below blends survival and horror elements, offering an experience where every decision and resource can mean the difference between life and death.
In Echoes Below, survival is not just about combat. The game combines tactical engagements with deep mechanics, including dynamic weather, realistic day-night cycles, and seasonal changes that affect visibility. You must gather supplies, manage hunger, thirst, and body temperature, and adapt to shifting seasonal conditions to endure the harsh environment. Resources can be collected through hunting, fishing, chopping wood, and scavenging, while advanced materials like metal can be found in enemy strongholds or scattered throughout the handcrafted open world.
Additionally, the game allows you to build and fortify bases, ranging from primitive shelters to fortified compounds, which can be customized for crafting, defense, and resource production. You can also collect decorative items from points of interest or craft them manually. The crafting system enables transforming raw materials into tools, weapon upgrades, and expanding limited ammo supplies.
Echoes Below introduces innovative tactical gameplay with a variety of military vehicles. Armored jeeps allow traversal across rugged terrain, boats patrol dangerous waters, and helicopters provide rapid aerial deployment. These vehicles aren’t just for transportation, they also enable quick troop deployment. Additionally, a drone system offers real-time reconnaissance and precision artillery support.
