Team17 and Grassrootz Studio have announced that the FPS project previously known as Project Wraith has been renamed Wraith Ops. This tactical multiplayer shooter promises a new type of team-based combat and precise gunplay, emphasizing simplicity and dynamic action. While the exact release date remains unknown, the game is currently listed on Steam.
One of Wraith Ops’ most striking features is its impressive arsenal of over 60 weapons, ranging in type and size. Each weapon can be customized with various attachments, including scopes, gadgets, camouflage, and perks, all of which affect performance and handling. The development team plans to introduce even deeper customization mechanics in future updates, further expanding personalization options.
The story of Wraith Ops revolves around two opposing factions – Aegis Industries and Volga Battalion, private military companies competing to uncover and recover remnants of a Cold War-era research project known as “Project Wraith”. This narrative sets the stage for intense battles and strategic competition, with each faction pursuing its own motives and goals.
So far, Grassrootz Studio has revealed four gameplay modes, including Team Deathmatch, Overlord (12v12), Trio Arena, and Gun Game. Additionally, when creating a loadout, players can assemble the perfect operator preset, selecting from options such as primary and secondary weapons, throwable items, stimulants, an ammo resupply box, night vision, and a tactical tablet, among other gear choices.
