It’s still surprising to think that the creators of Sifu, the realistic third-person Kung Fu brawler from Sloclap, have completely shifted genres and dived into something entirely different. We first saw Rematch at The Game Awards 2024, and now, during the Triple-i Initiative Showcase, we’ve gotten a new gameplay trailer, release date, and beta announcement.
The new trailer offers a deeper look into the game’s mechanics and signature football moves you’ll need to master to dominate the pitch. Rematch delivers fast-paced, dynamic 5v5 and 4v4 tactical matches, with no fouls, no offsides, and no VAR, focusing entirely on skill and strategic planning.
Those interested in participating can sign up for beta testing through the official website playrematch.com. The beta is available exclusively for PC (Steam) and will offer the first taste of intense online matches across virtual arenas worldwide.
For those looking to prepare ahead of launch, three editions are available:
- Standard Edition (€24.99) – Base version that includes an exclusive “early adopter” cap.
- Pro Edition (€34.99) – Includes 72-hour early access, a Captain Pass Upgrade Ticket, and exclusive cosmetics.
- Elite Edition (€44.99) – The most complete package with all Pro Edition content plus an extra Captain Pass, Glitcher sneakers, and an Augmented Reality Cage for added personalization.
Rematch officially launches on June 19 for PC, Xbox Series X/S, and PlayStation 5. The open beta is available for registration until April 18–19, when it officially begins.
