During The MIX Fall Showcase, indie developer Ground Game Atelier revealed the third trailer for their adventure RPG, The Time I Have Left. The team also announced a live Kickstarter campaign and released a playable demo on Steam, giving players a glimpse of this time-driven escape adventure ahead of its early 2025 release.
In The Time I Have Left you control Aline, a lone inhabitant of the underground city Colony 7, who has only six hours left to live. Marked for death by a mysterious phenomenon known as “The Miasma,” Aline must navigate this labyrinthine world, uncover dark secrets, and battle grotesque creatures in a race against time. The demo features two hours of gameplay from Chapter One, showcasing intense encounters, exploration, and the game’s reactive turn-based combat system.
The Kickstarter campaign aims to fund the game’s completion, offering backers exclusive rewards like t-shirts, digital art and soundtrack copies, and opportunities to design in-game content. Stretch goals include adding more enemy types, new areas, and potential console ports if funding targets are met. “The Time I Have Left is already half complete, but without community support, we may not be able to finish our passion project,” said Juan Estévez, creative lead at Ground Game Atelier.
Key features include a fresh take on the classic JRPG formula, blending nostalgic elements with modern mechanics. You will solve puzzles, uncover hidden stories, and unlock new abilities as they explore. The game’s time-driven narrative adjusts dynamically, ensuring each escape attempt offers unique challenges and opportunities.
