Publisher Microids and developer Magic Pockets have announced Space Adventure Cobra: The Awakening, a new side-scrolling action platformer set to launch in 2025. The game will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC through Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG.
Space Adventure Cobra: The Awakening is based on the classic manga series Cobra by Buichi Terasawa, which debuted in 1978. The game adapts the first 12 episodes of the anime series, bringing the adventures of the space pirate Cobra to life in a new format.
Players will step into the role of Cobra, a charismatic space pirate, as he embarks on a thrilling journey across the universe. Joined by his loyal partner, Lady Armaroid, and armed with his signature Psychogun, Cobra must confront a mysterious threat that looms over the galaxy. The mission involves traveling from planet to planet to rescue three enigmatic sisters, whose destinies are linked to a coveted treasure pursued by the Pirate Guild.
