Coldblood Inc. and Outersloth have unveiled Neverway, a unique mix of horror, life simulation, and action RPG, co-created by a pixel artist known for their work on Celeste. The game will be available on Steam, although an exact release date has yet to be announced. The first trailer debuted during the recent Triple-i Showcase event.
The story follows Fiona, who quits her job to start a new life on a farm, only to become an immortal messenger of a dead god. As she tries to navigate everyday life, she must also confront Neverway, a nightmarish reality slowly bleeding into her world.
Neverway features over 10 characters with whom you can build friendly or romantic relationships, each unlocking unique combat abilities. The combat itself is fast-paced and dynamic, with customizable styles suited to your playstyle through crafted items. Outside of combat, you can grow crops, fish, or decorate your home, with the in-game day divided into morning, afternoon, and evening segments.
Alongside the Celeste pixel artist, the game’s music is composed by Disasterpeace, renowned for his work on Hyper Light Drifter and Fez. Neverway also promises dynamic cutscenes, controller-optimized expressive combat, and an atmospheric horror narrative.
