11 Bit Studios Projects Lower Revenue from The Thaumaturge

11 Bit Studios has released its financial results for the first half of 2024. The Polish game developer expects its revenue from the game The Thaumaturge to fall short of $11.6 million in the first six months after launch.

For the first half of 2024, 11 Bit Studios earned $7.95 million, which is a 24.1% increase from last year. This growth was mainly due to sales of third-party games like The Thaumaturge and Indika, along with last year’s The Invincible. Games developed in-house, such as Frostpunk and This War of Mine, contributed to 48% of the revenue.

In February 2022, 11 Bit Studios bought a 40% stake in Fool’s Theory, the developer of The Thaumaturge. The deal included an additional payment if The Thaumaturge generated more than $11.65 million in its first six months. Since this target is unlikely to be met, the extra payment will not be made.

On the other side, Indika has already covered its development costs, selling 55,000 copies on Steam. Looking ahead, 11 Bit Studios is preparing for the release of Frostpunk 2 on September 20 and The Alters shortly after. The company expects strong sales and is optimistic about record-breaking results for 2024–2026.
