El Paso, Elsewhere is getting film adaptation

Third-person action game El Paso, Elsewhere, developed by studio Strange Scaffold under the direction of designer Xalavier Nelson Jr., was released in 2023 to great reviews. Less than a year later, this Max Payne-esque title would be adapted into a film.

Producer Lorenzo Di Bonaventura acquired the rights to the game through his company, called Di Bonaventura Pictures. This means that it will share the podium with other franchises such as Transformers and GI Joe, which this company has already worked on. According to Variety, LaKeith Stanfield will play the main character in the adaptation.

El Paso, Elsewhere follows a vampire hunter named James Savage, whose ex-girlfriend, known as Dracula, is also a vampire. Following her to a dark motel, Savage vows to save the world from Dracula and her army. This game combines action with two guns and is similar to the Max Payne games, with a noir aesthetic and a touch of anime. It is stylized and can easily be imagined as the basis for an action film similar to the John Wick franchise.
