Remedy Partners with Annapurna to Fund Control 2

Remedy Entertainment, the Finnish game developer behind popular titles like Control and Alan Wake, has entered into a strategic partnership with Annapurna Interactive. This deal will help finance the development of Control 2 and expand Remedy’s games into other media, such as movies and TV shows.

Under the agreement, Annapurna will cover half of the development costs for Control 2. In return, they gain the rights to adapt both the Control and Alan Wake franchises into films, television series, and other audiovisual projects. This move follows Remedy’s earlier announcement to further develop these franchises and their recent acquisition of full rights to the Control series.

For Annapurna, this is not their first foray into adapting games for the screen. Last year, they announced plans to turn the game Stray into a film. As of August, Control 2 is in the production readiness stage, though Remedy is currently focused on other projects, including a multiplayer spinoff of Control and remakes of the first two Max Payne games.

The details on when or how Control and Alan Wake will be adapted into film or TV remain undisclosed.
